Pinot Noir le Grand 750ml

The Pinot Noir le Grand 2021 is the darker, more serious side of Pinot Noir from Salgesch: red fruit with depth, fine spice, elegant structure and a presence that recalls a quiet tension in the room rather than loud power. A red wine for people who recognise finesse before it is explained.

On the nose, ripe cherries, red currants, raspberries and a hint of pomegranate emerge. This is accompanied by rose petal, a bit of dried orange peel, clove, fine wood spice, vanilla, smoke and a cool, stony note. The aroma is layered: first fruit, then spice, then this dark mineral note that gives the wine depth.

On the palate, it is dry, elegant and concentrated. The red fruit remains precise, the acidity brings tension, the tannins are fine but present. At 13.9% vol., it has more weight than the light Pinot style, yet remains clearly built on finesse. The finish carries cherry, spice, delicate roasted aromas and a fine salty freshness.

Culinarily, this Pinot belongs to festive cuisine that impresses not with mass, but with precision: veal loin with morels, turkey breast with chestnuts and herbs, braised red onions, oven pumpkin with hazelnut butter, mushroom strudel, beet Wellington or a fine vegetable dish with jus, herbs and roasting aromas. It can accompany meat, but it does not need heavy meat to make a great impression.

Serving suggestion: enjoy at around 14 °C. A large Burgundy glass and a bit of air give it space for fruit, spice and the elegant depth of the Salgescher vineyards.

A Pinot Noir with a red soul and black label: fine on the palate, deep in the finish and made for tables where enjoyment does not have to be loud.
