Cornalin (Rouge du Pays) 500ml

The Cornalin Rouge du Pays 2022 brings Valais character with an open invitation to the table: juicy cherries, dark berries, fine herbal spice and this charming mix of authenticity and drinkability that doesn't need much explanation – one glass is enough.

On the nose, it shows red and black cherries, blackberries, a hint of blueberry and a touch of violet. Wild herbs, a bit of black pepper and a subtle bitter spice add to it, giving the wine its typical Cornalin accent. It appears dark in fruit, but not heavy; aromatic and present, but not overloaded.

On the palate, it is dry, juicy and lively. The fruit is clearly in the foreground, the acidity brings freshness, the tannins provide structure without being intrusive. With 12.5% vol., the wine remains pleasantly drinkable and versatile – a Cornalin that shows character but doesn't require a manual.

It goes excellently with traditional cuisine: meatloaf, veal roast, sliced beef, bratwurst with rösti, mushroom dishes or hearty vegetable casseroles. At the same time, it can handle aromatic world cuisine: lamb tagine, spicy chicken, grilled aubergine, mild curries or dishes with peppers, herbs and warm spices.

Serving tip: enjoy at around 14 °C. Slightly chilled, it shows its fruit particularly clearly and remains wonderfully invigorating.
