Humagne La Doyenne 750ml
The Humagne La Doyenne 1313 is the Grande Dame among Valais white wines: traditional, fine, independent and with a quiet elegance that does not beg for attention, but receives it. 1313 was the first year Humagne was mentioned in writing – a piece of Valais wine history that today stands remarkably fresh in the glass.
On the nose, it shows pear, white peach, yellow apple and a hint of quince. Fine floral notes, chamomile, a bit of hay, delicate herbs and a bright, stony minerality accompany it. The aroma is not loud, but noble and clear – like an old letter that smells of dried flowers, paper and summer light.
On the palate, it is dry, fresh and elegantly structured. The fruit remains bright and precise, the acidity brings tension, the body feels slim to medium-bodied and the mineral spice draws the wine beautifully long. At 12.5% vol., it remains fine, balanced and invigorating – a white wine with history, but without museum dust.
For festive fish dishes, it showcases its class: fried pike-perch, trout, char, sole, fish in a light sauce, shellfish, scallops, or a fine risotto with herbs. It also pairs excellently with light poultry, asparagus, fennel, mild alpine cheese, or an elegant starter with citrus and herbs.
Serving tip: enjoy at around 12 °C. A medium-sized glass gives it enough space to show the fine floral, herbal, and fruity notes.
A wine for people who want to discover, not just drink: 700 years of Valais, poured into a glass.
