Cabernet Franc le Premier 750ml

The Cabernet Franc Le Premier 2022 brings colour, spice and character to the glass. A Valais red wine with a French soul, alpine freshness and that fine tension that makes Cabernet Franc so fascinating: juicy red fruit, herbal spice, elegant tannin and a dark mineral core.

On the nose, it shows red currants, sour cherries, raspberries and a hint of black berries. There are also violets, green pepper, a bit of paprika, fine wood notes, vanilla, cocoa and a subtle smoky depth. The wine does not feel heavy, but rather lively and layered – like a walk through sun-warmed vine rows, where suddenly pepper, flowers and roasted wood are in the air.

On the palate, it is dry, juicy and precise. The red fruit remains fresh, the acidity provides drive, the tannins are noticeable but finely structured. The maturation in double barrels imparts structure, spice and an elegant frame, without masking the clear Cabernet Franc aroma. The finish leaves a lovely blend of cherry, pepper, cocoa and cool minerality.

This wine loves dishes with roasting aromas: ribeye, lamb, veal chop, game birds, grilled tuna, sautéed mushrooms or braised root vegetables. It is also a strong partner for spicy hard cheese.

Serving suggestion: enjoy at 13–15 °C. Slightly chilled, it appears particularly elegant; with a bit of air, it shows more depth and spice.
