The N°1 le Grand 2019 is the wine for grand tables, deep glasses and conversations that can last longer. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc form a classic red wine trilogy here: dark fruit, fine spice, structure, elegance and that touch of Grandezza that immediately calls for festive meals and good company.

In the glass, it shows a dense ruby red with a dark core. The nose opens with blackcurrant, ripe cherry, damson and dark berries. This is accompanied by violets, cedar wood, tobacco leaf, cocoa, vanilla, a hint of graphite and a fine smoky spice. With the 2019 vintage, the first riper nuances are already showing, without the fruit losing its tension.

On the palate, it is dry, powerful and harmoniously structured. The Merlot brings fullness and velvety fruit, the Cabernet Sauvignon provides backbone and depth, and the Cabernet Franc adds spice, freshness and elegance. The tannins are present but matured and well integrated; the acidity keeps the wine lively, and the finish remains long, darkly spiced and elegant.

A red wine for festive dishes: beef fillet, rib-eye, rack of lamb, braised beef, game, hearty mushroom dishes, truffle risotto, aged hard cheese or a dinner where the main course does not just take place on the plate, but at the whole table.

Serving suggestion: enjoy at around 14 °C. Serve in large glasses and give the wine some air – then the fruit, spice and depth show particularly well.
