PMC Münzenrieder

Apetlon, Burgenland, Austria

In Apetlon, in the middle of the Seewinkel, PMC Münzenrieder combines a remarkable range with a consistent quality claim.

Powerful red wines, precise white wines, and internationally awarded sweet wines show how versatile the special climate around Lake Neusiedl can be interpreted.

In the vineyard, intensive manual work, yield reduction, and selective harvesting provide the foundation, while careful maturation in the cellar aims to preserve the character of the grapes and sites.

The Ried Neubruch holds a special position, from which some of the most ambitious wines of the estate originate.

The Seewinkel in all its diversity.

Peter and Christoph Münzenrieder have been running the family winery together since 1999, with a clear division of tasks and an equally clear quality standard.

Peter combines work in the vineyard with marketing and sales, thus carrying the wines of Apetlon far beyond the Seewinkel.

Christoph is responsible for vinification and quality management in addition to viticulture, overseeing the wines from the vine to the cellar.

It is precisely the interplay of experience in the vineyard, precise cellar work, and direct market contact that shapes the development of the winery to this day.

Two brothers who think about wine from start to finish.

Sustainability at PMC Münzenrieder begins with daily interactions with vines and soils.

For years, herbicides and insecticides have been avoided, while year-round greening and nature-friendly soil cultivation promote the natural balance in the vineyards.

This path was certified in 2021.Sustainable Austria also officially confirmed.

What remains crucial is not the seal, but a management that naturally connects quality and responsibility.

What grows today should also endure tomorrow.

Apetlon lies in the heart of the Seewinkel, one of the most defining wine regions of Burgenland.

The warm Pannonian climate, the nearby Lake Neusiedl, and the numerous salt lakes create special conditions for viticulture.

High ripeness meets freshness here, while the different soils give each site its own character.

This diversity forms the basis for the remarkable range of wines from PMC Münzenrieder.

Apetlon gives the wines their own rhythm.

The network of PMC Münzenrieder has grown over many years and generations.

The connection to the European Wine Knighthood is particularly close, whose history has been linked to the winery long before the current management by Peter and Christoph.

Today, PMC is also present in the Star Club of Lake Neusiedl and among the winemakers of the Neusiedlersee DAC.

Thus, established personal relationships meet a strong regional environment and the exchange within the wine world.

What connects us today has been built over generations.
