Apego – Chardonnay, AOC Zürichsee

Apego is a Chardonnay from the Wäck vineyard in Uetikon on Lake Zurich and shows just how clearly this grape variety can reflect its origin.

The finest grapes are selected in several passes and vinified in small batches directly in wooden barrels. Apego then matures for one year in barrique before being bottled unfiltered.

In the glass, it is refined, complex and layered. Williams pear meets subtle smoky notes, clear minerality and an elegant bitterness on the long finish. Despite the extended ageing in wood, the oak remains discreet and allows the fruit and origin to take centre stage.

A sophisticated Chardonnay with depth, structure and a distinctive personality. Particularly well suited to French inspired cuisine, fish, seafood and refined dishes.
